ALL STAR INFORMATION

We hope that this letter finds you enjoying a fantastic season of SVGS softball on our fabulous fields! It takes many people, donating many hours of heartfelt effort to make an organization like the Simi Valley Girls Softball league come to life each year. We recognize that without a great group of dedicated and enthusiastic players none of the efforts would be needed and what an awesome group of kids we have participating in our league!
Now that the regular season is nearing completion, the 2010 summer Allstar season is fast approaching. As such, we would like to provide some important information for those who may be considering having their daughter participate in the 2010 Allstar season. It is very important that prior to accepting an Allstar position, parents are informed about the commitment that is required from both player and family to participate in the Allstar season. Participation requires an extensive time and financial commitment form the parents, as well as a tremendous amount of hard work and perseverance from the Allstar players. Being selected to participate on the Allstar team is a great achievement for the players and is a fantastic opportunity to become an even more accomplished fastpitch player while having a great time with family, friends and teammates. The commitment that is required cannot be overstressed. Please carefully review the “What It Takes To Be A SVGS Allstar” Information Sheet. If you feel that you cannot make the high level of commitment that is required, please do not submit the signed attachment and required items.
The Allstar selection process will begin on May 1st. Managers from each division will hold an open forum discussion to select the Allstar teams from the list of players who have submitted the attached signed contract and their check payable to SVGS for $75 by April 15th, 2010. Please see the attached Allstar rules for 2010 for more details. There will be NO TRYOUTS this season. Please also understand that the submission of the signed contract and required items does NOT guarantee your daughter a spot on any of the Allstar teams. The submission of these items simply implies that you are authorizing your daughter to play in Allstars if selected to an Allstar team.
There will be a mandatory Allstar information meeting for parents only on April 24th, 2010 at 7:00 at Berylwood Elementary School. There are many changes from SVGS and ASA this Allstar season and they must be reviewed thoroughly with parents prior to the selection process. If no one is in attendance for your child, they will NOT be able to be selected for Allstars. If you cannot make it, send a representative for your daughter. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS unless cleared by the Allstar Commissioner. We will have a list of the players who submitted their signed contract and will check each parent or representative in at the door.
